It’s a common practice to use ratings for the products in the shopping website. This way visitors can rate the products according to their quality. By collecting rating results, website owners are able to summarize which products are best rated and therefore, provide more selling products. Also, it tends to attract more visitors for the products that have higher amount of good ratings.
To start creating ratings, login to Magento store admin area and navigate to “Catalog>Reviews and Ratings>Manage Ratings”.
Step 2Create and specify the new rating
In the next page click “Add New Rating” for adding new rating.
There we will need to specify rating title. As shown in the image below, it’s possible to set default title which will be used for various stores or one for all.
For example, here we are creating rating with the title “Price” which will be used for rating product price. To add this rating, simply click “Save Rating” button in the right upper corner.
The same way we can create the rest of the ratings that could be used to rate product quality, value, etc.
Once all ratings will be created, open shop front-end and click on any product to explore it’s details. There we should find more detailed information about the product including the amount of provided reviews and possibility to add our own review. For this reason, click “Add Your Review” link.
It will open new window with our created ratings and checkboxes for providing rating.
As we can see here we can select any checkbox from 1 to 5 stars and rate the product in various aspects. This will give us more information what products are best rated and which are not so popular. Having such information allows us to organize our products in more profitable way.
